So, I've been home from PAX for almost a week, and I'm still sick. Don't worry though, I didn't catch any pig related illnesses. The doctor says that if it is a flu, it's very mild and should be fine without heavy meds. He did however, offer a cough syrup that includes codine. Normally I would be all about the legal use of narcotics, but my wife vetoed it. It seems that from prior experience, which I have the haziest memories of, drugs that should knock out a normal person make me a hyper-conversationalist and in her words "loopy". I may go back to work Monday, but I haven't decided yet.

For any of you that didn't get to attend PAX this year, it was even better than last year.For anyone that has never taken the chance to go, you should. GenCon only wishes it was as much fun as PAX.

Highlights:

Our Steve Jackson Games demo space kicked all available ass.

The Friday night concert was my second chance to see MC Frontalot live, Anamanaguchi was great, and Metroid Metal was really really great. Telling some of the MM guys how much I liked them at the hotel breakfast the next morning just reinforced how cool of a show PAX is.

Gaming with Canadians.

Playing a demo of AE Bounty from Darkson Designs. It's a scifi skirmish game with a campaign system. Can't wait to get my hands on the book once it's published.

Needing to wear a sweatshirt.

So, I must officially be part of this thing now. I got added to some sort of spambot's friend group today.

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of LiveJournal and all the other social networking sites out there. I like to be able to check out what type of insane crap philreed is up to, see what doodlestan has drawn lately, and eavesdrop on the lives of people I find interesting, but I'm not good at blogging. I'm not really that good at staying connected in general. I only signed up here so when I post comments it won't be anonymous.

I don't mind that though. I nearly revel in it at times. Try calling my cell, the 10 of you out there that have the number, and I generally won't answer.

So why am I typing this...After multiple false starts on various blog sites...because it pisses me off that the first "You've been added to XXXX's friends list" is from a robot.

And that's about the only thing I've ever used one of these for. But I enjoy a good rant, not that this was one, and I may try it again sometime in the next six months.

If I were you, I wouldn't hold my breath though.
